MCEA Fall Conference 2023

October 26, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

With over 600 in attendance, Minnesota Community Education Association’s Fall Conference 2023 (Oct. 25–27) featured a presentation from LiveMore ScreenLess:

Building Community, Conversation, and Connection: A Path toward Digital Wellbeing

Technology and personal devices have myriad benefits. That is clear. We also know that device use is negatively impacting the wellbeing and learning of our students and impeding student-teacher relationships. It’s time for a shift toward Digital Wellbeing: balanced, intentional, and effective use of technology. This collaborative and interactive session will use the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child model (WSCC) developed by ASCD and the CDC along with research on the impacts of device use on learning and wellbeing to establish the need for Digital Wellbeing. In this presentation, LiveMore ScreenLess will describe their innovative process of Digital Wellbeing Facilitated Discussions, share youth voices, and describe how they train and certify adults and young people to hold these practical and effective discussions for and with young people.

Our Objectives
